Job Title: Jr. Crew Chief

Position Summary
The Jr. Crew Chief is responsible for staking well locations surveying and establishing section corners and staking access roads including slope staking for access roads and well location pads. This role provides daily oversight of assigned Survey Assistants while ensuring accuracy efficiency and safety in all field operations.

Reporting Structure
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Reports To: Project Manager Area Manager or Regional Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Stake pipelines and pipeline right-of-ways
- Perform topographic surveys and cross-sectioning
- Conduct mathematical calculations field checks and manage field data
- Take accurate and clear field notes and perform note reduction
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Understand and identify basic sources of measurement error
- Apply principles of monumentation staking and marking
- Ensure quality control and performance of all assigned work
- Maintain all company equipment and company vehicles
- Accurately track and report time and expenses
- Meet with clients and public landowners while maintaining a positive company reputation
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in changing conditions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Background in math geometry and trigonometry required
- 612 months of experience as a Survey Field Assistant and/or related schooling
Industry Knowledge
- Oil & Gas surveying experience preferred
- Strong math and computer skills required
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
Technical Proficiency
Experience using:
- Survey measuring instruments (levels GPS equipment total stations)
- Electronic data collection systems
Licensing Requirements
- Valid drivers license required
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) must meet company requirements throughout employment
Physical & Additional Requirements
- Ability to bend stoop reach and lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to walk for extended periods and operate ATVs across various terrains
- Capable of working indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Strong work ethic with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented organized dependable and safety-conscious
- Willingness to enroll in the DISA Compliance & Policy Program
Working Conditions
This position involves both mental and physical labor. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and is subject to extreme weather conditions and varying terrain environments.
