Description

Your role

  • Contract review and approvals: contracts are reviewed for accuracy and completeness of data points as well as the setup in CLM which is the basis for correct accounting throughout the duration of the contract.

  • Monthly revenue recognition: based on the revenue forecast generated by the revenue application combined with the controls in place to ensure complete and accurate revenue recognition post the revenues to the Accounting system.

  • Monthly flux analytics: analyze the variances month-over-month and tell the story behind the numbers. This input is relevant for the local Managing Director as well as the local FP&A lead as well as for the R2R team that take this as input in their comprehensive P&L analytics.

  • Execution and documentation of SOX controls in the revenue process

  • Contribute to internal and external audits on the revenues and revenue process

  • Maintain strong and constructive working relationship with internal stakeholders (including the Billing & Collections team Sales Operations R2R and FP&A) as well as internal/external auditors

  • Manage timely closing of the monthly revenues

  • Contribute to EMEA-wide compliance with the relevant SOX controls over contract approvals and revenue recognition

  • Reviewing approving activating and terminating of contracts and processing price indexations

  • Participate in (improvement) projects

Output:

  • Monthly revenue entries per property in the geography for which the Revenue Controller is responsible

  • Documented SOX controls

  • Revenue analytics per property

  • Up to date contract database in which contracts are activated and terminated in a timely fashion

What youll need

  • Proven previous experience in an accounting role

  • Knowledge of standard accounting packages (ideally Financial Force Yardi & Oracle)

  • Good knowledge of revenue accounting concepts under IFRS and US GAAP

  • Good problem-solving skills; a creative approach with the ability to develop new ideas

  • Ability to produce work to a consistently high standard within tight deadlines

  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team



Responsibilities

The Revenue Controller is responsible for complete and accurate recognition of revenues in the geography or geographies assigned to him/her review and approval of sales contracts revenue flux analysis as well as and execution and documentation of SOX-controls that are in place to ensure complete and accurate revenue recognition.



Qualifications

The Revenue Controller has strong finance and accounting experience and a passion for building strong relationships with the stakeholders such as the local Managing Director the FP&A team sales team Operations R2R and Billing & Collections. The Revenue Controller is resilient by nature and familiar with being in a highly visible role. The ability to prioritize and excellent attention to detail is key for this face paced role.

The Revenue controller is a strong team player who takes full ownership of his work taking initiative structure and organize work in a dynamic and constructive manner
