Job description:
Generate comprehensive technical project plans specifications drawings and models aligned with both industry standards client requirements and electrical engineering best practices.
Determine conduit and conductor sizing meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.
Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management organization and future scalability.
Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents select appropriate protective devices and ensure system safety.
Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards.
Ensure all electrical designs rigorously comply with and exceed local state and national electrical codes and regulations to guarantee safety and quality.
Apply established design techniques and exercises discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed. Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team design and CAD standards.
Will work with Sr. Engineers Project Managers and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives complex features and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
Foster collaboration communication strategy and support within your team multidisciplinary groups (Electrical Structural Process/Chemical Architectural etc.) and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency quality and resource allocation.
Conduct field verifications and site walks to identify validate resolve and integrate solutions into design packages. Resolve design issues on-site during construction if necessary.
Required:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution qualifying candidate for professional engineering licensure in Arizona.
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design drafting is required.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g. National Electric Code NFPA etc.).
Ability to clearly communicate technical information and design concepts to project managers contractors and cross-disciplinary teams.
Preferred:
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam with a focus on electrical engineering principles is highly desired.
Experience with other tools such as Revit ETAP SKM Power Tools and/or EasyPower is a plus.
