Position Overview:

A Design Estimator at Pref-Tech is responsible for supporting Sales & Design Professionals(SDPs) in the construction of estimates for assigned projects based on Preferred Technologies estimation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead manage and assume accountability for assigned sales projects and sales tasks.
Meet regularly with SDPs and Project Managers to determine and prioritize the companys design estimation needs.
Be able to present designs to SDPs Operations and to the end user as needed
Go on site visits to determine customer needs with or without SDPs.
Enter high security areas which may require immediate background checks.
Continuously develop sales & design skills & certifications.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree preferred
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
At least 2 years of design estimation experience with preference of those years spent in the general construction and/or specialty trade contracting industries
Experience with REVU20 Bluebeam software
Experience with AutoCAD
Ability to review and interpret blueprints
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience and confidence with public speaking and presenting to audiences
Ability to hold others accountable to completing their assigned tasks even if they hold positions of greater responsibility
Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools
Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in general construction and/or specialty trade contracting industries
Experience with AutoCAD
Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools

Work Hours:

Standard workdays and times are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. About 80% of theDesign Estimator work can be done remotely. The remaining 20% will include in-personactivities such as meetings networking events etc. Some travel will be required.

Physical Requirement:

This position is primarily office-based and requires the ability to sit for extended periods operate a computer and standard office equipment and communicate effectively in person and electronically. Occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs.) may be required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
