Director of Sales - Job Description
Reports To: Executive Director
Position Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for managing the full sales process for Ardenwoods including the assisted living community Heather Glen. This role oversees prospects throughout their journey from initial inquiry to move-in and supervises the Sales Consultant and future members of the sales team. The Director of Sales is accountable for maintaining or exceeding budgeted occupancy goals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Proactively generate and pursue leads through both in-office and external efforts including networking community outreach hosting visits and luncheons telephone follow-up and ongoing prospecting.
- Maintain current knowledge of local competitors and market conditions.
- Plan and conduct sales presentations for both in-office and in-home appointments.
- Meet with prospective residents and families to present community features assess needs and pre-qualify prospects.
- Complete all sales and application documentation thoroughly and accurately; promptly resolve omissions errors or other issues to facilitate timely move-ins.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect records within the CRM system.
- Submit regular reports outlining daily and weekly sales activities appointments prospecting efforts and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer on community marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Plan and execute community sales events and promotional functions.
- Serve as a member of the community Leadership Team and provide updates on move-ins sales activity and events.
- Supervise and support members of the marketing team.
- Participate in the Manager On Duty (MOD) rotation.
- Understands state regulations regarding admissions to assisted living.
Working Conditions
- Schedule may include evenings weekends and holidays to accommodate client meetings and community events.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales practices and procedures.
- Prior direct sales experience required; senior living industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience selling within a new or expanding senior living community preferred.
- Proven ability to conduct professional sales presentations and actively prospect for new business.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to make a positive first impression and demonstrate compassion and empathy.
- Ability to present effectively to both large groups and individuals.
- Skilled in interviewing prospective residents and following up on leads.
- Goal-oriented self-motivated and driven to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- High-energy organized and able to maintain a strategic big-picture perspective.
- Proficient in reading writing basic mathematics and computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with residents families and team members.
