Job Summary

Salary/Position Classification

  • $70000 Annual (12-month) Dependent on Experience Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

The Department of Aviation at the University of North Dakota seeks qualified applicants for a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Instructor.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The successful candidates responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Teaching various aviation courses at the standard Instructor teaching load at the undergraduate level.
    • Teaching various aviation flight courses safety courses etc.
    • Mentoring students on academic and career aspirations.
    • Serving on departmental college and university committees as assigned.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include retirement health disability and life insurance plans. All applications will be screened on the basis of qualifications and compatibility with the departments needs and personnel standards. - (Essential)

Required Competencies

  • Ability to teach and develop a broad array of aviation courses at the undergraduate level.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in an aviation related field and 2 years of professional aviation experience.
  • Hold a current FAA CFI and CFII certificate.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of established record of successful collegiate-level classroom teaching in aviation.
