Job Summary

Role: Azure Databricks Data Engineer
Structure: 1 year contract
Location: Downtown Montreal QC Hybrid 3 days per week in office
Rates: $85.00 - $95.00 p/h INC.

Deliverables

Design and develop scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory Databricks Spark and Python to support an enterprise data cloud platform.
Build and enhance reusable data loading libraries ingestion patterns (including streaming with Kafka) and data quality validation frameworks.
Translate business requirements into detailed data specifications and analytical-ready data assets to support unified reporting and analytics use cases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform consistency knowledge transfer DevOps pipeline integration and adherence to governance and security standards.

Experience Required

510 years of experience in data engineering and analytical platform development including at least 5 years using Spark and Python.
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience working with Databricks for large-scale data processing and transformation.
Strong experience with Azure data services provided by Microsoft including Azure Data Lake Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Experience implementing streaming and real-time ingestion solutions using technologies such as Apache Kafka.
Strong bilingual communication skills (French and English) with demonstrated ability to collaborate document and translate business needs into technical data solutions.
