Overview

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Status: Part-time 20 hours per week
Schedule: Varied hours between Monday - Friday 9:00 am 6:00 pm occassional weekends as needed
Location: Camp Hill
Pay: $17.75 per hour

What Were Looking For:

6 months to 2 years of previous job-related experience expected

Previous Personal Care Aide Caregiver Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Direct Care Worker experience
Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism

A valid drivers license and 6 months driving experience
Reliable transportation with valid insurance registration and inspection
18 years of age
Ability to communicate read write and understand the English language

As a DSP (Direct Support Professional) in Home and Community youll offer individualized 1:1 support that promotes independence builds daily living and social skills and encourages active participation in everyday life work and the community.

What Youll Do:

Provide transportation and support individuals during appointments work and community outings to promote full participation
Support individuals in building independence and self-confidence by encouraging choice-making and everyday decision-making
Assist in developing and carrying out individualized plans based on each persons preferences needs and interests
Teach and support daily living skills including personal care hygiene cooking and light housekeeping
Use effective communication to build trusting relationships and support social and community connections
Assist individuals in exploring employment interests and participating in work and community activities
