Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support reporting and analytical initiatives within a State Government agency. The selected candidate will analyze large datasets generate insights and develop dashboards to support agency decision-making. This role requires strong SQL proficiency data validation skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into clear recommendations. Experience supporting structured reporting environments is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop SQL queries to extract and validate large datasets.
- Build dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to present actionable insights.
- Perform trend analysis and identify anomalies within agency data.
- Collaborate with business units to clarify reporting requirements.
- Document data definitions and reporting logic.
- Conduct data quality assessments and implement validation processes.
- Support UAT activities for reporting solutions.
- Prepare executive-level summary reports.
- Maintain compliance with data governance standards.
- Participate in Agile sprint activities when required.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of data analysis experience.
- Strong SQL proficiency.
- Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience validating and cleansing datasets.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Experience documenting data processes.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience working in enterprise environments.
- Ability to manage multiple reporting requests.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public sector reporting environments.
- Familiarity with healthcare or Medicaid datasets.
- Experience supporting cloud-based reporting tools.
