Bridge Engineer - PM About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer Project Manager to join our Transportation team in Wichita Kansas. This is a key leadership position responsible for delivering high-quality bridge and structural transportation projects from concept through final design.
In this role you will manage and lead the design of bridge structures rehabilitation projects inspections structural analysis falsework and girder erection design retaining walls sound walls traffic control plans and related infrastructure components. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients while overseeing technical execution project schedules budgets and team coordination.
This opportunity is ideal for a licensed engineer who is ready to combine strong technical expertise with client leadership and project management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee bridge projects from initial scoping through final design and plan delivery.
- Lead the design and production of DOT turnpike municipal and county transportation projects.
- Perform and oversee bridge structure design rehabilitation design inspections structural analysis and hydraulics coordination.
- Design and review bridge falsework girder erection plans retaining walls and sound walls.
- Serve as the primary client contact developing and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Prepare and contribute to project proposals interviews and client presentations.
- Provide leadership mentorship and technical guidance to production staff.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards schedules and budget expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in DOT turnpike municipal or county transportation projects.
- Strong background in bridge design and/or roadway design with an understanding of bridge hydraulics.
- Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation platforms (OpenRoads InRoads or Geopak).
- Working knowledge of software such as MDX LEAP Bridge OpenBridge Designer BRASS-CULVERT LARSA and BAR7.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kansas preferred or ability to obtain licensure in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with local transportation standards and regulatory requirements preferred.
- Strong organizational leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects meet deadlines exercise sound judgment and handle confidential information appropriately.
