Job Summary

Department: Ballpark Entertainment

Reports to: Ballpark Entertainment Manager

Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (Seasonal)

Summary/Objective:

Camera Operator will control cameras and equipment at Space Cowboys games/special events for MiLB TV as well as cams for in-game promotions. They will be required to capture specific shots during a game handle a portable camera to capture action close-ups and interviews or use a stationary camera for specific in-game shots.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Setup and breakdown of Camera
  • Shooting pre-game and post-game events and in-game promotions (fan cams on-field games etc.)
  • Shooting in-game action
  • Taking direction from the technical director

Education and/or Experience & Skills:

  • Experience operating a video camera
  • Experience operating a tripod
  • Experience with basic organization of wires and cables
  • Able to pay attention to the game and know what is going on
  • Basic communication with your technical director and other managers/operators
  • Knowledge on basic camera terms (pan tilt zoom etc.)
  • Knowledge on baseball and how the game is played

Work Environment

The position will perform work in a stadium office and local community environment where noise/crowd levels greatly vary. The position is subject to varying temperatures and weather extremes.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for entire length of shift.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Ability to be in the heat for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours evenings weekends and holidays.
