Job Description:
A Production Management and Loading/Unloading Officer in a Dal (Pulse) Plant is
responsible for overseeing the entire production cycle from receiving raw pulses to dispatching finished dal. This role ensures maximum yield adheres to quality standards (moisture dehulling splitting) manages daily manpower and ensures smooth logistics during loading/unloading to minimize wastage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management & Scheduling
- Operations Oversight:Manage daily operations of the pulse mill including cleaning soaking conditioning milling and grading.
- Yield Optimization:Ensure high-quality output (82-85% yield) and minimize product loss (broken/powder) during dehulling and splitting.
- Production Planning:Implement production plans to meet daily/weekly targets optimizing machinery usage to prevent bottlenecks.
- Equipment Maintenance:Monitor machinery (emery rollers dryers) and coordinate with the engineering team for repairs and maintenance.
- Quality Control:Ensure compliance with quality standards including color sorting moisture check and cleaning efficiency.
2. Loading & Unloading Supervision
- Material Handling:Supervise the unloading of raw materials (raw pulses) and loading of finished products (Dal) into trucks/wagons.
- Inventory Control:Maintain accurate records of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods implementing FIFO (First-In-First-Out) methods.
- Damage Control:Ensure safe handling of materials to minimize damage during loading/unloading.
- Documentation:Maintain Gate In/Out records weighbridge tickets Loading Advice/Challans and Daily Production Reports (DPR).
3. Manpower & Safety Management
- Team Management:Direct train and supervise packing loading and machine operator staff to achieve operational targets.
- Safety Compliance:Enforce safety protocols including the use of PPEs and maintain a safe working environment to prevent accidents.
- Housekeeping:Maintain 5S standards (cleaning and organization) in the warehouse and production area.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education:Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering Agriculture or Food Technology.
- Experience:25 years of experience in pulse milling agro-processing or food industry management.
- Knowledge:Strong understanding of Dal Mill machinery pulse quality and processing techniques.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in MS Excel (reporting) Tally or ERP software (stock management).
- Logistics:Experience in coordinating transportation and logistics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Production Yield Percentage (Target: >82%).
- Production Target Achievement (Daily/Monthly).
- Reduction in Wastage/Damages.
- Turnaround Time (TAT) for loading/unloading.
