UW Medical Center-Montlake - Urologic Oncology Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full time / 40 hours per week
  • Day shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm
  • Monday-Friday only
  • Our clinic is closed on nights weekends and holidays

This is a temporary fixed duration position. We expect this position to last 6 months.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Urology Clinic at UW Medical Center-Montlake diagnoses and treats patients with urologic cancer and general urology conditions. The clinic hosts the Bladder Cancer Multispecialty Clinic and the Prostate Cancer Multispecialty Clinic. UW Medical Center-Montlake Urology was recently recognized as a UW Medicine Patient Experience Top Performer for Medical Practice.

  • Act as the primary clinical communicator for patients and caregivers

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide care for patients with prostate bladder and other urologic cancers
  • Act as the first line coordinator in a multidisciplinary team that includes pain management palliative care physical therapy and nutrition services
  • Perform port and PICC lining blood draws and care
  • Help patients families and caregivers overcome healthcare system barriers
  • Provide care coordination throughout the cancer continuum ensuring timely access
  • Provide education and resources to patients families and caregivers about diagnoses treatment options side effect management post-treatment care and survivorship
  • Assess and promote healthy lifestyle choices through education and referrals to ancillary services
  • Develop and use appropriate assessment tools (e.g. distress screening pain scale)

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of recent oncology urologic or medical-surgical nursing experience
  • BLS
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$45.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$83.64 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour Certification premium - $1.25/hour Overtime pay
