Qualifications and experience:
- Valid Master Mariner COC class1 unlimited with all relevant STCW certificates.
- At least 5 years in command as master on large vessels sea going (VLCC and Containers).
- Minimum 5 years as Senior Pilot in a port; with proven track record in maneuvering very large vessel up to 400 m in ( harbor channel and anchorage ).
- Core Competencies
- Ship handling: high-level expertise in maneuvering large diverse vessels in confined busy port and channel including anchorage maneuvering.
- Navigation: Proficiency in using ECDIS Radar and GPS.
- Professional/Technical Skills:
1- knowledge and practical skills in Port State Control (PSC).
2- Ability to support compliance checks and cooperate with port authorities during inspections.
3- Competence in conducting and assisting with marine incident investigations including collisions groundings or environmental hazards.
4- Strong reporting skills to document findings and contribute to safety improvements and regulatory compliance.
5- Deep understanding of IMO conventions (SOLAS MARPOL STCW etc).
- Communication:
Excellent English communication skills required for coordination with port control bridge team and tugs operation.
- Decision making :
Quick accurate judgment under high pressure critical situation.
- Situational Awareness:
High level of awareness to ensure safety during boarding and pilotage.
