Job Summary
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Android Engineer to help design standardize and evolve our Android Automotive Apps Marketproduct in a fast-moving global environment. In this role you will build and refine reusable Android components across apps services libraries and SDKs working closely with Product Architecture QA and OEM partners. You will drive clean architecture coding standards and modular design while improving performance reliability and maintainability under automotive constraints. Overall responsibilities and duties:
- Investigate design and implement new features and improvements in our Android Automotive Apps Market product (apps services libraries SDKs).
- Analyzeexisting implementations across projectsidentifyduplication or divergence and drive convergence into standardized reusable product modules.
- Define andmaintainarchitectural guidelines coding standards and implementation patterns that ensure consistency across OEM deployments.
- Collaborate with product management and architecture to refine technical roadmaps prioritize improvements and align product evolution with customer needs.
- Build andmaintaininternal tools reference implementations and sample apps that simplify integration anddemonstratebest practices.
- Improve performance reliability startup time and resource usage of the Apps Market client under automotive constraints and varying hardware.
- Contribute to automated testing (unit instrumentation integration) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure highquality repeatable releases.
- When needed join customer calls and workshops to clarify technical requirements present proposed solutions and gather feedback for product improvements.
- Support OEM integrations with targeted debugging log analysis and rootcause investigations feeding learnings back into product standards.
- Document solutions guidelines and decisions so that other teams and OEM partners canimplement andmaintainthem consistently.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java working on production-grade applications or system components.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM Clean Architecture) Jetpack components and dependency injection frameworks.
- Experience in refactoring standardizing and modularizing codebases to improve reuse maintainability and scalability.
- Solid experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous data flows background operations and error handling.
- Proven debugging skills including working with logs profilers and different devices/OS versions; ideally with some exposure to embedded or automotive environments.
- Good communicationskills and the ability to interact directly with customers in technical discussions whenrequired.
- Habit of writing clean maintainable and welltested code with a mindset oriented to longterm product quality and consistency.
- Experience with Android Automotive OS invehicle infotainment or embedded Android systems.
- Experience building internal frameworks SDKs or shared libraries used by multiple teams or customers.
- Familiarity with performance optimization in constrained environments and with observability practices (logging metrics tracing).
