WWL Louisiana the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in New Orleans is seeking a photographer and editor to join our team. The ideal candidate is proficient at creating captivating and shareable content for television social media and mobile platforms. You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy and can work under tight deadlines. We are looking for individuals who possess a keen artistic eye a deep understanding of editing and photography techniques and a passion for storytelling.
Responsibilities:
- Use editing tools to create content for weekend morning newscasts and digital platforms.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures webcam interviews etc.) to enhance stories.
- Setup & shoot reporter live shots during the week and fully edit on deadline short and long-form elements
- Conduct solo in-person interviews
- Work closely with news producers reporters management and the digital team.
- Cover breaking news general assignment news weather feature stories and sports
Requirements:
- Experience as a photographer and/or editor preferred
- Knowledge of Edius editing software preferred
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be deadline-oriented maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules
- Must be able to work early mornings nights and weekends
