Compliance Adviser

Location: Tweed Heads NSW Lismore NSW Coffs Harbour NSW or Port Macquarie NSW

Full-time permanent position commencing 18 May 2026

Position Purpose:

The Compliance Adviser manages initiatives and programs ensuring schools have specialist professional support and advice in the key areas of school registration compliance across the system. The position is situated within the Governance Legal and Risk Team of DLCS but will also provide support to the other teams within DLCS as required.

As Compliance Adviser this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life.

Work Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Education related field with post-graduate degree in Leadership or Theology preferred.

Work Experience:

  • At least five years experience in a School leadership role with demonstrated knowledge of compliance requirements.

Key Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver reports to a range of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Capacity to develop and deliver targeted training packages for different categories of staff including non-teaching staff.
  • High level time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Plus the following generic criteria:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Catholic education in Australia and demonstrated capacity to implement the Mission of the Church for Catholic Education.
  • Demonstrated ability to support school communities to be formed in the Mission of Jesus Christ.
  • Knowledge of WHS and equity principles in the workplace.
  • Respect for the teachings of the Catholic Church and by conduct and lifestyle ability to give witness to the Churchs mission.
