Program: Summer Squad Grant funded through NKSDs Office of Family Learning/NK Recreation Summer Learning Collaborative for students registering for NK Recreation Programs at McGinn Park; Outdoor and classroom space will be used for learning activities and will be co-facilitated with NK Recreation staff. This program is grant funded and the focus is to mitigate summer learning loss by engaging participants in fun experiential learning activities. In need of 4-5 teachers (subject to participant enrollment) to: - work with targeted students in grades 1-6 (certifications flexible);
- provide curriculum development & implementation based on common core;
- integrate service learning model based on Generation On curriculum;
- provide leadership creative learning experiences & be positive mentors & role models;
- work collaboratively with NK Recreation Department staff to support & integrate learning between activities/programs;
- participate in all required pre planning and post evaluation activities;
Candidates are required to meet weekly beginning in May with a planning team prior to the start of the program and participate in all required meetings required by funders. Details: - Program will run for 24 days from July 7th to August 13th and target a minimum of 50 students.
- Teachers will be paid $56 per hr plus FICA/Medicare (no additional benefits) for weekly planning hours and summer hours.
- Work hours are between 8:30-11:30 am Monday-Thursday.
