J&J Truck Equipment is seeking a Quality Control Inspector who will conduct both in process & final inspections of manufactured/fabricated products to ensure they are of acceptable quality & that it meets customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
- Interprets engineering drawings schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality & reliability standards.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions performance mechanical and electrical functionality.
- Records test data applying statistical quality control procedures.
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
- When necessary coordinates destructive and nondestructive tests on materials parts or products to measure performance life or material characteristics.
- Observes and complies with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.
- Observes and complies with all safety rules including the use of PPE.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2years of experience in manufacturing or quality preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary and strong familiarity with all aspects of J&J products is a plus
- Knowledge of how to read blueprints engineering drawings or technical specifications.
- Experience performing in-line and final inspections and familiarity with nonconformance & corrective action processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities.
