This posting is for an Academic Interventionist who will provide direct K8 small-group instruction in reading writing and math working within K8 academic intervention systems across the district. The position is also responsible for Title I documentation and collaboration with the business office to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements. Qualifications: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate Endorsements in Elementary Education or Special Education with Reading Specialist or related endorsements strongly preferred Demonstrated success in delivering small-group academic instruction Experience with MTSS intervention planning/RtI progress monitoring and data-driven decision making Preferred: Training or familiarity with evidence-based reading and math interventions (e.g. DIBELS Amira 95% Group Heggerty Orton-Gillingham approaches Bridges Number Corner) Preferred: Training or familiarity with diagnostic standardized assessments (e.g. NWEA MAP Growth) and experience with data-driven decision-making Required Skills: Ability to deliver high-quality small-group academic instruction aligned with evidence-based practices Strong understanding of reading foundations structured literacy writing instruction and math conceptual development Ability to collect analyze and communicate data that informs instruction Skill in collaborating with teachers aides counselors and administrators to design and implement MTSS/RtI supports Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail especially for Title I documentation Approaches work with curiosity reflection and commitment to continuous improvement Professional communication skills in working with students staff and families Ability to build community and support a positive growth-focused school culture Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide targeted K-8 small-group intervention in reading writing and math using structured literacy and other evidence-based practices. 2. Identify students for intervention through Lelands MTSS process using universal screening data progress monitoring formative assessments and teacher input. 3. Develop implement and monitor intervention plans documenting progress and adjusting instruction based on reliable assessment tools. 4. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to support Tier I differentiation model strategies through push-in support and review student progress. 5. Train and support intervention aides to ensure consistent high-quality instructional support delivery. 6. Collaborate with administrative/intervention staff on K8 academic intervention systems and serve as an active MTSS/RtI team member contributing to data meetings and decision-making. 7. Administer and support assessment systems (NWEA MSTEP progress monitoring etc.) including small-group testing staff training and data organization. 8. Maintain accurate academic intervention records and assist in creating effective instructional schedules based on student needs. 9. Collaborate with special education counseling and behavioral-health staff to support whole-child learning within the MTSS/RtI framework. regularly with families and staff about student progress and strategies for supporting professional learning school initiatives and family-engagement events while modeling professionalism and supporting the districts mission.
