Teacher - Adaptive PE

Pay Scale: Teacher
Primary Purpose:
Provides appropriate physical education activities/program as determined by ARD committee to students with disabilities to promote the optimum development of the childs skills.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Adaptive P.E. certification or endorsements in Special Education and/or P.E. (preferred)
Experience:
Adaptive P.E. teaching experience (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrate ability to evaluate gross motor skills of individual students through use of appropriate assessments.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in teaching gross motor perceptual motor and sensory motor development activities to multi-involved special education student population.
Demonstrate ability to communicate successfully with parents and school staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Paraprofessional Staff
