Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

How youll contribute:

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant works within his/her state scope of practice and within the guidelines of a collaborative agreement with a physician as applicable by state requirement. Works in collaboration with a psychiatrist on an inpatient basis and oversees the quality of care delivered to his/her patients on an outpatient basis.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

  • Knowledgeable regarding infection control & employee health policies/procedures. Assure use of universal/standard precautions and effectively

handle emergency situations

  • Provides individual therapy family therapy and/or medication management as needed for assigned patients.

  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

What we are looking for:

Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physicians assistant program required. Completion of a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program preferred.

  • Current Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
  • 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
  • CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
