Position Summary: The ESY Teacher is responsible for the direct delivery of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) as outlined in the ESY section of each students IEP. The primary focus of this role is the maintenance of previously mastered skills and the prevention of significant regression in critical life areas ensuring students are prepared for a successful transition back to school in the Responsibilities:Instructional Delivery: Implement individualized lesson plans that target specific ESY goals in areas such as literacy mathematics social-emotional learning and functional life Monitoring: Conduct frequent objective data collection on identified at-risk skills to monitor for maintenance and guide instructional of Support Staff: Provide daily direction and supervision to Educational Technicians (Ed Techs) to ensure accommodations and modifications are applied Reporting: At the end of the session provide a written summary for each students year-round Case Manager detailing performance levels and data related to their ESY Management: Maintain a highly structured predictable environment that follows the students established behavioral and sensory protocols to minimize :Valid Maine Department of Education Certification (282 - Teacher of Children with Disabilities K-12 or 283/conditional equivalent).Experience with MUSER compliance and the ability to interpret and implement Section 7 of the skills in behavioral intervention and trauma-informed instruction.
