Job Title:Environmental Field Inspector - Northeast
Reports to:Director EHS
Job Summary:This role performs site evaluations collects field data documents compliance conditions and assists clients in meeting federal state and local environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented self-motivated and comfortable working independently in outdoor and industrial environments while maintaining strong communication with project managers supervisors and clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic (monthly quarterly and annual) and recurring environmental compliance inspections related to Stormwater Pollution Prevention; Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure; and waste management at client sites throughout the MA CT RI and NY.
- Complete and manage necessary reporting for those monthly quarterly and annual environmental compliance inspections
- Read interpret and apply EPA and state regulations within air water and waste
- Perform stormwater or environmental sampling whenrequired.
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and coordinate laboratory submissions.
- Operate andmaintainfield equipmentin accordance withcompany procedures.
- Communicate professionally with and provide excellent customer service to clients
- Support multiple projects simultaneously across various locations.
- Ensure client compliance with EPA regulations
- Market environmental compliance services to current and future clients
- Complete weekly expense reports and timesheets
- Overnight and day company-paid travel 50% of the time to client sites to perform environmental compliance inspections
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice (Word Teams Excel Outlook)
- Ability to adhere to the admission requirements of large industrial and manufacturing client sites
- Effectively follow safety procedures
- 50% travel
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science Engineering or related field is preferred but notrequired.
- Basic Knowledge and Understanding of EPA Regulations and Environmental Compliance.
- Experience with SPCC and SWPPP/SWBMP Plans; hazardous waste and EPCRA; Title V air permitting and reporting a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive/sitfor extended periods.
- Ability tolift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending lifting and carrying of sample coolers and supply boxes.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to adhere to the admission requirements of large industrial and manufacturing client sites
- Effectively follow safety procedures
- Walk long distances to complete inspections
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in field settings.
- Ability to work in hot humid and potentially hazardous environments
- Drive to and from industrial and manufacturing sites throughout the Northeast region and potentially across the nation
