Position Details:
Lactation Consultant RN (LDRP)
Location:Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd Saint Louis MO 63128
Status:PRN (As Needed)
Overview
Responsible for assessment problem identification and problem-solving for patient/staff education relating to breastfeeding. Develops implements and evaluates the lactation education program. Emphasis with focus on antepartum postpartum nurseries and specifically related outpatient clientele.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelors degree required along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.
Licensure:Must hold a current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri.
Experience:Minimum of 23 years of professional experience required.
Certifications:Lactation education certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:Advanced degree or additional relevant coursework preferred.
Licensure:Additional or multi-state licensure preferred.
Experience:Prior experience in lactation support or related specialty preferred.
Certifications:Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting preferred.
Other:Strong communication skills ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending stooping and patient lifting/turning with assistance
- Ability to push pull and grip up to 50 lbs
