About the role:
Gen3 seeks a Junior Security Control Assessment (SCA) Analyst to support our federal clients. The successful candidate will hold a degree in a related technical field and possess 1-3 years of cybersecurity experience. He/she will have familiarity with NIST and how security controls are applied and assessed in a federal environment. The candidate must pay attention to detail and have a technical understanding to create and execute test cases and confirm evidence of compliance. He/she must have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to work with Information Security Officers and Managers.

Note: This is a remote position

Experience and Education:

  • REQUIRED: 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in information security cyber risk management network defense or IT system administration with a security focus. Experience may include internships co-op positions or hands-on cybersecurity training programs that demonstrate applied understanding of security principles.
  • REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity Information Systems Computer Science or a related technical field. An Associate degree plus 2 additional years of hands-on experience may substitute for a Bachelors degree.
  • REQUIRED: CompTIA Security CE (or equivalent).
  • DESIRED: Network CEH or CAP certifications
  • DESIRED: Recent support of a federal agency
  • DESIRED: Current or recent staff-like access at Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

Employment Eligibility: Eligible to work for any employer in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Other Requirements:

  • A minimum of three (3) out of the past five (5) years of residency in the United States is mandatory.
  • Candidates must possess either an active green card or citizenship.

  • Those selected for this role may undergo a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility criteria for accessing classified information or be eligible for security clearances.
