An exciting opportunity to work as part of a growing Infrastructure department supporting multiple high-profile clients as part of the Capgemini portfolio. The role of Storage & Backup Engineer will be a forward-thinking position which gives opportunities to assist with project and transition work as required. Someone who can work in a busy and challenging environment with a proven track record in day-to-day support and project work delivering to high quality standards.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role your needs and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices client sites and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position you will go through a series of pre-employmentchecks including:
identity nationality (single or dual) or immigration status employment history going back 3 continuous years and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)
Your role
- Provide BAU support of the SAN environment and Backup environment.
- Maintaining documentation and Producing management reports.
- Implementing changes according to client change management process
- Managing Backups (end to end configuration rerunning failed backups)
- Disaster recovery testing and Tape Management/Rotation

Your skills and experience
- Familiarity with SAN Switch Management commands (Brocade and Cisco)
- Storage Management software skills
- HP and EMC Storage (Powerstore Isilon ECS and Unity)
- Brocade and Cisco SAN switches
- Familiarity with SNOW Incident and Change Management and Veritas Netbackup
