Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Position Urgency: Normal
Duration: 13-week assignment
Position Overview The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting with minimal supervision. This role requires strong clinical judgment adaptability and the ability to respond rapidly to changing patient conditions. The RN performs accurate triage coordinates care with providers and may cross-train or float to other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities -
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients across all acuity levels.

Perform safe rapid and accurate triage assessments.

Monitor patient condition administer medications and implement treatment plans.
-
Communicate patient status and changes effectively with physicians and the care team.
-
Document care accurately within the electronic medical record.

Maintain patient safety and follow infection control and emergency care protocols.
-
Provide patient and family education regarding care and discharge instructions.
-
Cross-train in other nursing departments as required.
-
Float to Medical-Surgical units when needed.
Schedule -
Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM

Regular schedule includes Thursday Friday and Saturday nights

Additional shifts may be assigned based on department needs
Requirements -
Active RN license (state of practice) required

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience preferred

Current BLS ACLS and PALS certifications required

Ability to pass a nursing medication test

Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment
Preferred Certifications (as applicable) Work Environment & Expectations -
Fast-paced emergency care environment requiring flexibility and clinical prioritization

Must demonstrate professionalism when interacting with patients staff the public and external agencies

Willingness to float cross-train and support other units as needed
