Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive patient care within a Cardiovascular Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with medium to high acuity conditions. Patients are generally stable but may have a high risk of becoming unstable and require advanced monitoring and specialized nursing care.
The unit manages patients with complex cardiovascular conditions including cardiac diagnoses pre- and post-operative cardiac procedures acute myocardial infarction arrhythmias heart failure post-pacemaker insertion and other related disease processes. Nurses are responsible for delivering high-quality care coordinating with interdisciplinary teams and responding to changes in patient condition.
Key Responsibilities -
Deliver direct patient care for cardiovascular and critical care patients

Monitor patient status recognize changes and escalate concerns appropriately

Provide pre-operative and post-operative cardiac care

Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols

Perform cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition

Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans

Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control standards
-
Float to other units including Med/Surg as needed
Patient Population & Unit Details -
Adult through geriatric patients

Medium to high acuity cardiovascular cases
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio up to 1:4
Schedule -
12-hour day shifts (0700 start)

Holiday coverage required
-
Hours and scheduling based on department needs
Requirements -
Active California RN license
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
-
Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
-
Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
-
Ability to float to other units as needed
Preferred Qualifications -
Experience in cardiac progressive care telemetry or cardiovascular ICU

Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
Additional Information -
Contract nurses must be W-2 employees of their agency
