Job Summary
Learning Prep School in West Newton MA is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Occupational Therapist to cover a maternity leave within our collaborative and highly respected OT department. We are looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist who can begin as soon as possible to ensure continuity of services for our students. This position will continue through this role the Occupational Therapist will provide direct therapy services and consultation in accordance with students IEPs. The successful candidate will step into an active caseload and support students who rely on consistent high-quality occupational therapy services to access their learning environment. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations selecting appropriate assessment tools compiling written evaluation reports maintaining daily therapy logs and developing targeted intervention plans. The OT will collaborate closely with teachers related service providers and families to implement accommodations across environments participate in IEP meetings monitor student progress and maintain clear timely documentation. Strong communication skills organization and a proactive student-centered approach are Prep School is an innovative and unique non-profit school for students with significant and diverse language and learning challenges. Our students face a broad range of learning disabilities including language-based nonverbal and executive functioning difficulties. Understanding that language skills are the basis for all learning LPSs unique curriculum integrates the teaching of language skills in all subjects. LPS strives to provide specialized instruction in an inspiring warm supportive and emotionally safe environment.This position works MondayFriday 7:30am3:15pm with after-school meetings on Wednesdays until 4:00pm. - B.S. in Occupational Therapy
- Massachusetts License as an Occupational Therapist
- National Certification in Occupational Therapy
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
