Job Summary:

Participates in planning coordination development implementation and maintenance activities related to data reporting data mining and data analysis. Collaborates with clinicians and system end users to design build implement document evaluate and maintain Epic data reporting tools and integrated components. Utilizes a knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and other data analytical tools to build and maintain reporting user interfaces (e.g. alerts prompts screens dashboards templates reports and data extracts). Analyzes and understand business problems; recommends solutions meeting organizational clinical and business systems reporting goals. Supports a secure effective integrated patient care delivery reporting platform that improves outcomes reduces cost increases efficiency and enhances patients experiences continually.

Required Education:

• Bachelors degree in IT IT management software engineering computer engineering computer science computer information systems (IS) applied engineering health information management (HIM) health informatics nursing informatics nursing health science education business administration health care or a related field.
• Human Resources (HR) may accept directly related work experience on a 1-year:1-year basis for required education.
  • NOTE: Experience credited in lieu of formal education will not be credited toward the minimum experience requirement below (i.e. the same experience will not be counted twice).

Required Experience:

• Two (2) years of directly related professional experience
• Communication skills (critical).
• Complex problem-solving skills (critical).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with one or more of Epics Cogito reporting modules including Clarity Caboodle Chronicles.
• Experience with SQL-like language.
• Journeyman knowledge of SQL programming and data extraction methodologies.
• Knowledge of report development best practices.
• Understanding of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts.
• Familiarity with hospital workflows.
• Familiar with programming languages data modeling standards and data structures.
• Proficient in at least one of the following: Python C# Visual Basic or other object-oriented programming language.
• Ability to analyze/understand business problems and recommend solutions.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Related Epic certification(s) required. Multiple certifications may be required depending on functional area and job responsibilities. Required certification(s) must be obtained within ninety (90) days from last class completion.

If a required certification is not obtained after three (3) examination attempts the incumbent has a period of thirty (30) days after the last examination attempt to apply for other job opportunities within the organization.
