Essential Functions Statement(s)
Manage an assigned recruitment territory by closely monitoring application numbers reviewing application documents recommending admission decisions and completing outreach to prospective students.
Plan and conduct recruitment travel including event scheduling attendance and follow-up data entry of prospects and event notes.
Understand and be prepared to clearly articulate DePauw Universitys mission benefits key features of all academic programs financial aid campus life opportunities campus amenities and any other key points of interest to prospective students their families and/or their college search counselors or representatives.
Interview prospective students to enhance their level of interest in the University and to evaluate their academic readiness for the rigors of a DePauw education.
Develop and cultivate relationships with school counselors independent counselors and representatives of community-based organizations.
Participate as assigned on the Counselor of the Day rotation ensuring that all campus visitors are properly greeted given an admission presentation and tour and that their needs questions and concerns are all appropriately and thoroughly addressed.
Complete other duties or special assignments as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Admission Dean of Admission

Skills & Abilities
Education: Bachelors degree required.
Experience: Entry level position. Experience as an undergraduate admissions intern student ambassador or student volunteer is preferred.
Communication/Language: Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information to top management peers and public groups including high school students their parents and school and independent counselors.
Computer Skills: Familiarity and facility with database management statistical programs and web-based applications.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be committed to and be able to articulate the value of a residential liberal arts education.
Candidates must be comfortable traveling alone (by mass transit or by driving day or night) possessing the ability to navigate from location to location in unknown environments and the flexibility and problem-solving skills to successfully navigate challenges.
Must be a team player possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as creativity and innovation.
Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and assessing priorities asking for guidance when needed.
Demonstrate effective collaboration with faculty and campus partners.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive long distances and work flexible hours on evenings and weekends when needed.
