Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol in Syracuse NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine rounds stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and respond to concerns with calm clear communication and customer service. This post requires an armed guard card and/or license and offers a chance to live Allied Universal values by being agile reliable innovative caring and team-focused while always acting with integrity.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to customers employees and/or visitors while carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities in a retail setting.
- Respond to incidents suspicious activity and/or critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store common areas loading and receiving areas parking areas and perimeter to help to deter theft trespassing and/or other unwanted activity.
- Monitor and operate security-related systems and equipment such as CCTV access control points and alarm panels documenting observations and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns per site procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports patrol logs and shift documentation and assist with customer disputes lost and found issues and/or crowd management while maintaining professional presence and compliance with applicable firearms policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
