Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Associate in Alexandria VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine rounds and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor processing while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors and employees while carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies post orders and applicable laws and/or regulations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including contacting appropriate internal personnel and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas exterior grounds and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity identifying and reporting unusual conditions.
- Complete patrol logs incident reports and shift documentation and communicate relevant updates to supervisors and/or incoming officers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
- Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
