What you will do:

  • Actively demonstrates the organizations mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
  • Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health safety and medical information.
  • Assists with surgical procedures in operating room and in clinic
  • Conducts initial assessment of patients during office visits.
  • Schedules diagnostic test procedures as directed.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Based on principles of growth and development provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
  • Acts as a collaborating member of the clinic medical home team and is highly committed to a team construct.
  • Adheres to all safety infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

What you will need:

Education:

High school graduate with additional specific training.

Two years post-secondary education in an accredited Physician Assistant program or comparable training that results in successful certification by an accredited organization in surgical assisting.

Licensure:

Certification in Surgical Assisting and/or can provide evidence of employment in the field prior to July 1 2009.

BLS certification required upon hire or able to obtain within 60 days.

Experience:

Experience in independently harvesting leg veins preferred
