The Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Leader Electrical Services and working two (2) weeks on two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati mine site; the Process Control Technician will provide technical support services to monitor and improve process control systems and instrumentation performance site wide. The Electrical Services Team consists of a variety of trades and as a member of the team you will be expected to assist and work with other disciplines.
The Responsibilities
Apply sound technical and investigative practices to identify problems;
Repair and calibrate field devices;
Focus on preventative maintenance;
Develop and implement performance monitoring and testing programs; and
Analyze results identify challenges and recommend improvements.
The Requirements
Journeyman Instrument Mechanic certification or a diploma in a recognized Instrumentation Technical program.
3 years experience in a technical capacity.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
A broad knowledge of the types of equipment machinery and processes used in the precious stones process industry.
Specialization in Process Control and Instrumentation systems and experience in Modicon PLC and Wonderware HMI control systems and knowledge of database systems such as SQL is considered an asset.
The successful candidate must have the ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong communication leadership and interpersonal skills are essential. You will also have the ability to work effectively as a team member with minimal supervision.

Additional Information:
The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary Yellowknife and other northern fly points.
