We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher (RSP) who is duly credentialed in Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe disabilities to implement and maintain special education programs and services in accordance with district procedures and state and federal laws. This role includes providing written and consultative support communicating effectively with parents school personnel and the Board and serving as a resource to support student success. The teacher will also help ensure adequate staffing and program implementation so that special education objectives are achieved efficiently and within budget.
What Youll Do:
- Assist professional and paraprofessional personnel in diagnostic evaluative and instructional activities.
- Assist in the planning development and implementation of a variety of curriculum activities.
- Meet with committees and discuss recommended changes; provide guidance and advice to teachers and administrators.
- Assist in the development and procurement of instructional materials and equipment.
- Writes and conducts instructional and academic programs; IEP Meetings determine options and alternatives; consult with other professional staff; observe and work with teachers; monitor students curriculum progress.
- Assist in the planning development and implementation of staff development and in service training; provide teachers and other education staff with support material and resources.
- Serve as a liaison with support personnel and other public and private agencies; assist in maintaining follow-up and referral service.
- Prepare specialized brochures surveys and other descriptive promotional materials for local state and national distribution.
- Respond to school agencies requests for new or revised programs and services.
- Develop and edit field support materials which will facilitate the delivery of instructional and academic programs.
- Assist in providing training workshops conferences and in-services.
- Consult with other professional staff and consultants regarding programs to which they are assigned.
- Conduct special education assessments IEPs and direct provision of SAI services
- Travel to client sites as required.
- Provide virtual support to VillageED and in-home students.
- Ability to meet specific key performance indicators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skill & Other Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid California CTC credential in Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe disabilities- Required.
- Resource Specialist Added Authorization is a plus.
- Bachelors degree in special education from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation- Masters Preferred.
- 3 years Special Education Experience -preferred.
- BCLAD Certification- Preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
