About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead operational transformation for a diversified oil & gas services company operating across five service lines: manpower supply technical inspection & expediting specialized plant cleaning waste management and drilling operations management.
Reporting to the Managing Director you will integrate these distinct service lines establish enterprise-wide operational standards and build scalable infrastructure that enables growth while maintaining safety and regulatory excellence. This is a hands-on strategic role in a founder-led organization transitioning to professional management.
Key Responsibilities
Establish unified operational standards and P&L management across five service lines while enabling service line autonomy
Oversee end-to-end service delivery ensuring compliance with NUPRC/DPR/NOSDRA regulations and international HSE standards
Develop and manage client relationships across multiple service categories; drive cross-selling and revenue optimization
Build and lead professional management teams across operations; establish organizational professionalization without losing entrepreneurial agility
Manage operational risk regulatory compliance procurement and capital deployment across the portfolio
Requirements
What Were Looking For
1215 years senior operational leadership (COO VP Operations) in oil & gas services or complex multi-service operations. Proven experience managing diverse service line portfolios scaling founder-led organizations in Nigeria/West Africa and navigating regulatory complexity. Track record of building operational teams and establishing governance systems while maintaining growth momentum.
Essential: Strong understanding of Nigerian petroleum regulations HSE frameworks and emerging market dynamics. Deep commercial acumen ability to influence across levels comfort with complexity and ambiguity. Experience in one or more: manpower/staffing operations equipment-intensive services plant services inspection/quality assurance or drilling support.
Degree in Engineering Business Administration or Operations Management. Professional certifications (PMP NEBOSH API) valued. Fluency in English required.
