As a Security Officer - Arena Perimeter Patrol in Washington DC you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine rounds and stay highly visible to help to discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with students staff and visitors document observations and respond to concerns with professionalism and care. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to students faculty staff and visitors by following site-specific procedures access guidelines and other security-related protocols and when appropriate supporting emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings residence areas parking areas and campus perimeter observing for unusual activity hazards and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including assisting with de-escalation directing individuals to appropriate resources and requesting additional support when needed.
- Monitor entry points and common areas verify identification and/or authorization as required manage visitor check-in processes and help to maintain orderly movement through controlled areas.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents patrol findings and policy issues; communicate timely updates to Allied Universal supervisors and on-site contacts and support investigations as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
