The Catholic Studies Outreach Specialist will facilitate engagement and development with our alumni and benefactors particularly through newsletters events and social media. The specialist will also organize a marquee event in Arizona each year sponsored by Prime Matters which will host a conference for Catholic Studies and relevant organizations facilitating strategic fundraising opportunities and all practical necessities required.
As the acting Managing Editor of Prime Matters this position will ensure the smooth functioning of promotion of its materials to our community especially online students and the larger world. This position will solicit articles from our faculty and other relevant contributors from the wider world.
Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Plans promotes and facilitates Catholic Studies alumni engagement at key university events including Luminosa Charge to Champion Desert Rose and Homecoming. Coordinates with the Office of Public Affairs and the Office of Mission Advancement.
Leads organization of annual Lumen Vitae Conference in Arizona collaborating with the Office of Mission Advancement and the Events Office.
Facilitates regular engagement with our alumni in Catholic Studies benefactors and prospects to attain fundraising goals set for the Catholic Studies program.
Serves as the managing editor of Prime Matters. Ensures updating and promotion of its website; solicits articles from faculty; coordinates with other organizations involved with Prime Matters.
Coordinates Catholic Studies social media accounts in concert with the Office of Public Affairs.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Include:
Bachelors degree required. Preference given to candidates with a background in marketing communications or related fields. Experience or familiarity with Catholic Studies is desirable.
Preferred: 1-3 years of directly related experience
Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality inthe School of Arts and Sciences and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition that all be received as Christ.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging alumni benefactors and faculty
Ability to work collaboratively across university offices and departments
Ability to plan and coordinate events and conferences
Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong writing and editing abilities for newsletters and promotional materials
Ability to solicit edit and manage written content from multiple contributors
Proficiency in website management and social media platforms
