Job Opportunity: Locum Gastroenterologist in Des Moines IA
Facility Overview:
Join a dynamic medical team at a leading healthcare facility in Des Moines Iowa. This facility is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and is equipped with advanced medical imaging laboratory services and a dedicated staff of healthcare professionals. Currently we are seeking a skilled Locum Gastroenterologist to support our inpatient services and enhance our patient offerings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services including colonoscopy EUS and ERCP.
- Manage inpatient responsibilities with an average daily census of 10-12 patients.
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call schedule providing coverage for both routine and emergency cases.
- Collaborate with an advanced practice provider team although supervision of APPs is not expected.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems specifically EPIC for patient documentation and care coordination.
- Effective communication with patients and healthcare staff to foster a collaborative care environment.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology or Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship completion) - REQUIRED
- Active Iowa medical license or active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) - REQUIRED
- Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED
- Proficient in performing EUS and ERCP procedures - REQUIRED
- Clean malpractice and background history - REQUIRED
- Able to commit to coverage from June 12 @ 0700 - June 19 @ 0700 - REQUIRED
License and Certification Requirements:
- Valid Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility.
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology or Board Eligibility if within 5 years of fellowship.
- Fellowship training documentation in Gastroenterology.
