Senior Database Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Database Administratoris expected to be able to accomplish the following:

• Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Reviews database design and integration of systems provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintains security and integrity controls.
• Formulates policies procedures and standards relating to database management and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
• May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
• Administers a variety of database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits modifies and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversees the scheduling of database projects database and transaction log backups notifications and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
• Assists Database Designers/Information System Analysts in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems.
• Reviews technical designs reports documentation and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports; researches and implements new database and online technology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• ActiveTS/SCI CI Poly clearance
• BS 5-7 years of relevant experience; MS 3-5 years; PhD 0-3 years
• One or more of the following DoD 8570/8140 certifications:
  • CompTIA Security
  • CompTIA CySA
  • CompTIA CASP
  • CISSP

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• AWS Certified Database Specialty
• Microsoft SQL Server High Availability Certification

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
• Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
• RMF (NIST 800-37 / 800-53) formal training
• ITIL 4 Foundation (Minimum)
• ITIL Managing Professional (Preferred)
• COBIT 2019 Foundation

• Work schedule: Normal work hours constitute on average 8 hours a day40 hoursper week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800 Monday-Friday excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
