Job Summary

Position Summary:

Working with minimal supervision level two gauge lab tech calibrates and issues gauges as well as prepares gauge kits with the gauge planner. The tech will work closely with the gauge recall system entering data and managing gauge calibration due dates. The tech will demonstrate basic blue print reading basic shop math skills and operate optical comparator and surface profilometer as well as use other basic inspection tools. Other primary duties will include quality inspection. This tech will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in inspection measuring equipment and may work as receiving inspectors final inspectors or entry-level CMM inspectors.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

All functions duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest ethical and professional manner and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Perform advanced mechanical inspections.
  • Drives Safety Quality 6S and Delivery metrics.
  • Prepares production for upcoming audits internally and externally.
  • Manages corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • General understanding of metrology standards and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of inspection processes.
  • Advanced shop math & blue print reading.
  • General understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with AS9100 preparation.

Experience & Education

  • Typically 3 Years.
  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles extreme heat risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
