The Senior Technical Governance Lead is responsible for defining implementing and maintaining governance frameworks standards and policies that guide global engineering practices. This role ensures that engineering teams across regions build and deliver software in alignment with organizational objectives regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Acting as the bridge between engineering information security and enterprise architecture this role enables innovation while reducing risk ensuring both operational discipline and technical excellence.
You will contribute to global products and platforms that serve both internal and external customers in Commercial Real Estate across multiple regions. You will ensure delivery excellence engineering quality and great developer experience. You are a hands-on problem-solver with strong design principles who thrives in a collaborative and agile environment. As a senior member of the Engineering Operations function you will drive best practices. and mentor engineers while creating the environment for our engineering team to deliver impactful secure and scalable solutions for our global business.
Governance Frameworks and Standards
- Define and maintain technical governance frameworks covering software development DevOps CI/CD cloud and QA practices.
- Establish and document global engineering standards for coding architecture testing documentation and release processes.
- Partner with enterprise architecture and security to ensure alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously review and update standards to reflect evolving technologies and business needs.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Work with the global InfoSec team to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO27001 SOC2 GDPR)
- Collaborate with InfoSec to embed secure-by-design and privacy-by-default principles into the SDLC.
- Proactively identify technical or operational risks and implement governance mechanisms to mitigate them.
- Support audit readiness by providing evidence of compliance across engineering teams.
Engineering Excellence and Best Practices
- Promote a culture of quality reusability and maintainability through governance frameworks.
- Define and track engineering metrics (e.g. code quality technical debt release reliability) in collaboration with the Operations Excellence team.
- Act as a subject matter expert for engineering teams helping them interpret and apply governance standards effectively.
- Ensure governance supports-not hinders-developer productivity by balancing rigor with agility.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Work closely with DevOps Software Engineering Cloud Engineering InfoSec and Product to ensure governance is embedded seamlessly in daily workflows.
- Provide guidance and training to engineering managers and teams on applying governance standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership translating technical governance into business impact.
- Facilitate governance forums communities of practice and knowledge-sharing initiatives across global hubs.
Qualifications :
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5-8 years of professional experience in engineering governance software architecture or technology risk management roles.
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science engineering or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of software engineering lifecycles DevOps practices and cloud-native architectures.
- Proven experience defining and implementing governance frameworks in global technology organizations.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills with a structured approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at executive and engineering team levels.
- Demonstrated ability to balance governance rigor with developer productivity and agility.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO27001 SOC2 GDPR). And how to operationalize controls in engineering context.
- Agile Development experience (Scrum/Kanban).
- Experience working in distributed or remote teams and using tools such as Jira GitHub Miro and Azure DevOps.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure coding standards.
- Experience leading governance programs in hybrid multi-cloud environments (Azure & GCP).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced growing tech environment and to foster change in larger organizations.
