Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to be based in Newfoundland.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts environmental field work and field programs including the collection of air soil water and other materials for laboratory analysis.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

  • Assist with various remediation projects in the field and office.

  • Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Employee needs to be currently living or willing to re-locate to Newfoundland.

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline (Science Geotechnical Geology Environmental Engineering etc.) two (2)  years of related experience within this field.

  • Experience with field work conducting sampling of media (groundwater surface water soil sediment etc.).

  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel to job sites (sometimes remote) on occasion.

  • Field work experience.

  • Working in a team setting to meet timelines and quality management.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
