The Media Technician will be responsible for ensuring all work undertaken within the Media department is performed to a high standard and complies with current written addition the Media Technician will be involved in calibrations quality control of media ensuring stock levels are sufficient and maintenance of equipment.
Reporting to the NSPT Department Manager key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing a high level of support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring that work performed within the area complies to SOPs/methods.
- Completing internal equipment calibrations and records.
- Preparing media and reagents.
- Conducting routine QC analysis of all media/reagents and report deviations
- Signing off Media Quality Certificates.
- Cleaning and sterilising reusable laboratory ware.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or Degree in Science/Laboratory Techniques (Microbiology) (or similar) or equivalent experience preferred.
About you:
- Great eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills: able to prioritize assign and execute tasks in high-pressure fast paced environment.
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
- Highly motivated and a real team player.
- Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
