Maintenance & Facilities Technician Manufacturing

About the Role

ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in access solutions and our Melbourne manufacturing site is home to iconic brands like Lockwood Yale and looking for a practical hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Technician who is confident on the floor knows how to deal with trades and contractors and takes ownership of keeping the site running day-to-day.

This is not a desk-based coordination role. Youll be on site working directly with production teams and service providers making decisions and ensuring plant equipment and facilities operate safely and reliably every shift.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being on site and actively involved in day-to-day operations rather than purely planning or coordination work.

What Youll Be Doing

• Maintenance Planning:Coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance and safety checks to minimise downtime.
• Contractor Management:Act as the primary site contact for all external service providers (Electrical Mechanical Plumbing and Security).
• Site Upgrades:Support capital works projects and equipment installs alongside the Facilities Supervisor.
• Spare Parts & Inventory:Identify and track critical spare parts to ensure were always ready for repairs.
• Safety & Compliance:Conduct site audits monitor safety equipment and ensure all maintenance records are documented and audit-ready.

What Youll Bring

• Real-World Experience:You have a solid background in a maintenance or facilities role within amanufacturing environment.
• Trade Background:A trade qualification (Mechanical Electrical or similar) is highly regarded. You speak the language of the floor.
• Organisation Skills:Youre a finisher who can prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and keep the paperwork sharp.
• Practical Mindset:You are solutions-focused and comfortable working with systems and databases to track site performance.
• Safety First:You take zero-harm seriously and lead by example when it comes to site hazards.
