JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
TheFuel Systems Maintenance Technicianis responsible forperforming specialized skilled work in the operation maintenance and repair of fuel system elements used in the provision of fuel. Inspect all fuel facilities and takeappropriate actionas necessary based on such inspection to ensure compliance with applicable lawsrulesand regulations. Read fuel meters. Inspectmaintainrepairand replace as necessary all elements of the fuel system including tanks pumps meters pulsers nozzles hoses swivelsfittingsand all hardware used to track fuel levels and usage.
SCHEDULE:
This position works Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM 4:30 PM and ison-site at the Central Shop in addition to occasional site visits throughout Jefferson County. This position also requires the need to be available foron-calloutside of normal business hours.
COMPENSATION:
AnticipatedHiringSalary:$24-$27USD Hourly
Compensation will bedeterminedbased on educationexperienceand skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Installmaintainrepairand adjust pumps control valves tanks meters strainers filters water separatorspipelinesand all other elements of liquid fuel systems.
Navigate Fleet Asset Management software (Faster) and Fuel tracking software (Phoenix)
Monthly fuel site inspections in compliance with applicable regulations to detect and correct leakage corrosion faulty fittings and malfunction of mechanical units meters and gauges such as fuel hydrants tank pits distribution lines storage tanks turbines pumps and control rooms.
Inspect electrical wiring switches and controls for safe operating conditiongroundingand adjustment. Repair replace and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.
Clean and paint storage tanks. Remove and install old and new equipment such as meter and filter installations pipe systems pit covers and vents tomodifyexisting installations.
Engage contractors as necessary to perform work on fuel system or anyportionthereof or to provide parts for maintenance or repairs to be conducted by County staff.
Read fuel meters at shop facilities regularly.Determineuse and schedule deliveries tomaintainconstant supplies. Maintain and repair fuel pumps and tanks at County fueling facilities.
Disassemble adjustalignand calibrate gauges and meters.
Pick up and deliver equipment parts.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be prepared to respond to fuel related emergencies as needed.
Must complete and passUST A/B fuel training within the first 60 days of hire.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:1 year of work-related experience.
Education:High School Diploma or GED
*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred knowledgeskillsand abilities:
CDL License by the State of Colorado Department of Transportation to handle hazardous material.
