DescriptionKey Responsibilities
- Design simulate build and test electrooptical evaluation boards and optical transceivers in support of customer and product development needs.
- Develop electrooptical datacom reference designs and evaluation systems to promote solutions spanning 50G to 400G data rates.
- Perform detailed circuit design component selection and schematic development for highspeed electrooptical systems.
- Coordinate plans and schedules with the program manager to ensure timely execution of prototypes and evaluation systems.
- Lead handson testing and debugging of assembled solutions in the laboratory including rootcause analysis and performance optimization.
- Collaborate closely with crossfunctional engineering teams including optical mechanical firmware IC and assembly process engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Engage with internal and external suppliers to define and refine specifications for optical electrical and electromechanical subcomponents.
- Resolve customer product development issues through direct technical interaction and support.
- Prepare detailed design documentation and technical presentations to communicate design decisions tradeoffs and project status to stakeholders.
- Set up maintain and continuously improve electrooptical laboratory stations to support ongoing development and testing activities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience in electrooptical or highspeed hardware design including schematic capture and component selection.
- Handson experience with simulation laboratory testing and debugging of highspeed electrical and optical systems.
- Proven ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and coordinate complex technical efforts.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and customers on technical specifications and issue resolution
- Strong technical communication skills including documentation and presentation of design decisions and project status.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Applied Physics or a related field.
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; or 10 years and a Masters degree; or a PhD with 7 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects mentor team members and drive innovation
