About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager RN Labor & Delivery and Mom/Baby to provide clinical and operational leadership within a perinatal services environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on nurse leader who values collaboration staff development and high-quality maternal-child care. The Manager will support a fast-paced clinical setting and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe efficient and family-centered care.
Position Summary
The Manager RN L&D and Mom/Baby oversees daily clinical and operational functions for perinatal services. This leader maintains a strong presence on the unit supports staff performance and engagement and ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mentor and support nursing and support staff in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Promote teamwork communication and professional development
- Partner with educators and clinical leaders to support training and competency development
- Monitor patient outcomes operational performance and regulatory compliance
- Implement initiatives to improve patient safety experience and throughput
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing required; Masters preferred
- Active California RN license
- NRP certification required
- Minimum two years acute-care nursing experience (perinatal preferred)
- Minimum one year leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication coaching and team leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Leadership experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Experience in unionized or structured workforce environments
- Experience supporting high-volume perinatal programs
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality improvement processes
- Prior bedside experience as a Labor & Delivery RN
